Health unit reports double-digit increase in COVID-19 cases

Lambton Public Health reported over a dozen new cases of COVID-19 Thursday.

In its daily update, the health unit reported 14 new infections and nine resolved cases, increasing the active case count by five to 60.

Since the start of the pandemic there have been 4,460 confirmed cases of the virus, 4,322 recoveries and 78 related deaths.

There are five active outbreaks, unchanged since Wednesday. Bluewater Health had five COVID-positive patients in hospital, up one.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
