COVID cases up eight

Lambton Public Health reported eight new cases of COVID-19 Friday.

In its daily update, the health unit also reported five more resolved cases, increasing the active case count by three to 63.

There have been 4,468 confirmed infections in Sarnia-Lambton since March 2020, of which 4,327 have been deemed resolved, and 78 related deaths.

There are four active outbreaks, down one from Thursday, and five COVID-positive patients at Bluewater Health.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
