Another double-digit increase in COVID cases

For the third day in a row, Lambton Public Health is reporting a double-digit increase in new COVID-19 cases.

In its daily update Monday, the health unit reported 17 new confirmed infections and 14 resolved cases, increasing the active case count by three to 77.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, there have been 4,517 confirmed cases, 4,362 recoveries and 78 related deaths in Sarnia-Lambton.

There are five active outbreaks. The latest two were declared Friday, December 10 at Bright's Grove Public School and at John Knox Christian School in Wyoming. An outbreak declared at Generations Day Care-St. Phillip site on December 3 has ended.

There are eight COVID-positive patients at Bluewater Health, up from five on Friday.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
