Two London schools switching to remote learning

Students at two London schools will be learning from home for the last week of class before the holidays.

The Thames Valley District School Board (TVDSB) has closed Westmount Public School to in-person learning. The board determined that the number of close contacts from a confirmed case of COVID-19 with potential links to the Omicron variant made it necessary to close the school for the time being.

The switch to virtual learning goes into effect Monday, December 13, and will last until Monday, January 3, 2022.

"Classroom teachers will contact families with information for virtual learning," TVDSB said in a statement.

It's asked families requiring technology to contact the school office.

The board assured that the Middlesex-London Health Unit (MLHU) will be providing advice and support to the school community.

There are currently 52 cases of COVID-19 being tracked in Thames Valley schools. A full list can be found on the TVDSB website.

The London District Catholic School Board says St. Andre Bressette Secondary School will be closed to students for the final week before the break. The move came after four confirmed cases of COVID-19 were associated with the school.
