COVID-19 cases climb in Midwestern Ontario Tuesday

The Grey Bruce Health Unit confirmed another 25 cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, in Chatsworth, Kincardine, Meaford, Saugeen Shores, South Bruce, South Bruce Peninsula, Arran-Elderslie, Grey Highlands, and Owen Sound. There are 192 active cases, and 1,363 high risk contacts. Four residents are hospitalized with the virus.

Huron Perth Public Health added twelve new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday, in Stratford, St. Marys, Perth East, Huron East, Goderich and Central Huron. There are 88 active cases, and four residents are hospitalized with the virus.

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health reported seven residents are in hospital with COVID-19, and two are in the ICU. 30 new cases were added Tuesday, including 17 in Wellington County. There are 152 active cases in Wellington County, including 28 in Minto, 24 in Wellington North, and five in Mapleton.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
