Vaccination rates continue to increase in Midwestern Ontario

Ontario reported 81% of residents five and up are fully vaccinated as of Thursday.

Huron Perth Public Health reports 82.5% of residents over five have one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, and 77.6% have two doses. 21.4% have had a booster shot.

The Grey Bruce Health Unit said a full 80% of people over five in the region have one dose of a vaccine, while 75.7% have two doses.

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health reported 87.3% of residents have at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 81.8% are fully vaccinated. Mapleton Township has the lowest rate of vaccination at under 70%.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
