Lambton Public Health reports spike in COVID-19 cases

A major spike in COVID-19 cases was reported by Lambton Public Health Friday.

The health unit recorded 100 new confirmed cases of the virus and 20 resolved cases. That increases the number of active infections by 80 to 286.

The outbreaks in the community rose by one to 11 and the death toll remains at 80.

Since the pandemic began in March 2020, there have been 4,896 confirmed cases of the virus and 4,530 resolved cases.

Lambton Public Health will not be providing its daily updates on Christmas Day or Boxing Day.

Bluewater Health has 14 COVID-positive patients in hospital, down three from Thursday.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
