Chatham-Kent follows provincial trend with jump in new COVID-19 cases

The Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit is reporting a big surge in active COVID-19 cases in Chatham-Kent as the province also set another record for new daily cases.

The local health unit added 73 new cases to the local total on Thursday along with 18 more resolved cases, so there are now 342 active cases in the community.

The number of Chatham-Kent cases in the hospital is still holding steady at 14, no new deaths were reported, and there are still five outbreaks in the municipality -- that's all unchanged from Wednesday's totals.
