Midwestern Ontario sees multiple COVID-19 outbreaks at retirement and long term care homes

COVID-19 is creating outbreaks at a rising number of long term care and retirement homes in Midwestern Ontario.

Huron Perth Public Health reported outbreaks at five long term care homes. Hillside Manor in Perth East, Kingsway Lodge in St. Marys, Queensway Nursing Home in Bluewater, Ritz Lutheran Villa in West Perth and Wildwood Care Centre in St. Marys are working to contain active outbreaks. Outbreaks are being reported in three retirement homes, Exeter Villa, Maplewood Manor in Huron East, and Seaforth Manor.

The Grey Bruce Health Unit reported three Facilities in COVID-19 outbreak. Active outbreaks continue at Rockwood Terrace Long Term Care, Pinecrest Manor, and Errinrung Retirement & Nursing Home.

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health reported outbreaks in 16 facilities. That includes Wellington Terrace Long Term Care in Fergus, Caressant Care Long Term Care in Arthur and Royal Terrace Long term Care in Palmerston.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
