Nearly 150 new cases of COVID-19 in Sarnia-Lambton

Lambton Public Health reported nearly 150 new cases of COVID-19 Thursday.

In its daily update, the health unit reported 147 new lab confirmed infections, 214 resolved cases and two more deaths up to 93.

The number of active infections is down by 69 to 870.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, there have been 7,427 cases of the virus and 6,464 recoveries.

There are 15 active outbreaks, down from 17 on Wednesday. Outbreaks declared in late December, 2021 at Vision Nursing Home and Rosewood Retirement Village are over.

Bluewater Health had 35 COVID-positive patients in hospital, unchanged from the previous report.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
