LPH records 122 new cases of COVID-19

Lambton Public Health reported 122 new lab confirmed cases of COVID-19 Sunday.

There were 79 cases deemed resolved, increasing the active case count by 43 to 849.

The death toll remains at 94 and the number of active outbreaks is unchanged at 14.

Since the pandemic began in March 2020, there have been 7,802 confirmed cases of the virus and 6,859 recoveries.

Lambton Public Health said there are still about 800 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine available at the walk-in clinic at the Sarnia Legion on Front Street.

Essential workers are welcome without an appointment from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., while all others will need to book an appointment online at lambtonpublichealth.ca

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
