Health care workers honoured with drive-by salutes

Drive-by salutes were held at Bluewater Health's sites in Sarnia and Petrolia on Tuesday afternoon.

Around 20 emergency vehicles passed by the hospitals at around 2 p.m., in support of health care workers and the incredible job they've done throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Some residents also lined the streets, and workers were out to show their appreciation for being recognized.

A similar event was held outside the hospital on March 31, 2020 in support of front-line health care workers.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
