Over 100 new COVID cases reported by LPH

Lambton Public Health reported over 100 new cases of COVID-19 Thursday.

In its daily update, the health unit reported 114 new lab confirmed infections as well as 102 more resolved cases, increasing the number of known active cases by 12 to 606.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, there have been 8,113 confirmed cases locally, 7,406 recoveries and 101 COVID-related deaths.

There are 18 institutional and workplace outbreaks, up two from Wednesday.

Bluewater Health is reporting 57 COVID-positive patients, eight of them in the intensive care unit.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
