After a fairly mild Wednesday morning, another blast of winter weather is expected to hit parts of southwestern Ontario.
Environment Canada issued a snow squall watch for Chatham-Kent, London and Middlesex County, Elgin County, and Sarnia-Lambton.
Late Wednesday evening, the watch was replaced with a snow squall warning for parts of Eastern Lambton County, London, and Middlesex County including Parkhill, Strathroy and Komoka.
According to the weather agency, lake effect snow squalls off Lake Huron were expected to begin Wednesday evening and last into Thursday night.
During that time, areas under a snow squall warning could see between 20 and 30 centimetres of snow. Environment Canada says that could cause reduced visibility.
"Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably," Environment Canada said. "Changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow."
The snow is expected to continue throughout Thursday.
