UPDATE: Westbound Hwy. 401 clear again in CK

The Ministry of Transportation says the westbound Highway 401 between Chatham and Tilbury is open again after a collision on the highway near Merlin Road.

Westbound traffic was being diverted off the highway at Bloomfield Road in Chatham for a couple of hours Friday morning, but the MTO sent out a notice just before 10 a.m. saying that all of the lanes were open again.

No word yet on whether any charges will be laid in connection with the collision that prompted the closure or whether any injuries were reported.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
