Police investigating a break and enter

On Saturday morning police responded to a business on Llewelyn Street in Chatham.

Police believe that sometime overnight, an unknown person smashed a window to the building and took a Stihl chainsaw valued at approximately $1400 from inside.

The investigation is ongoing and there are currently no suspects.

Traffic stop leads to impairment charges

Early Sunday morning, a police officer on general patrol in Blenheim initiated a traffic stop on Chatham Street, North.

Police said that the officer believed the male driver was driving while impaired by alcohol.

A 59-year old Chatham man was arrested and, following breath tests, was charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.

The man was later released with a court date of March 25, 2022.

 

Domestic disturbance call leads to arrest

Chatham-Kent police responded to a domestic disturbance call at a residence on Edgar Street on Saturday.

As a result of the investigation, a 24-year old male was arrested for assault with a weapon.

The man was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters and later released with a court date of March 23, 2022.

 

Woman arrested after violating bail conditions

On Saturday, police responded to a shoplifting complaint at a business on Queen Street in Chatham.

Police found that the 37-year-old woman involved was on conditions not to attend the business.

As a result, she was arrested and released with a future court date.

 

Several men arrested on outstanding warrants

On Saturday morning, an officer on general patrol in Chatham located a man near Adelaide Street who was wanted on an outstanding warrant.

The 27-year old male was arrested and later released with a court date of March 18, 2022.

Chatham-Kent police responded to a call at a residence on Orchard Heights on Saturday morning.

Through investigation, a male at the residence was found to be wanted on an outstanding warrant.

The 56-year old man was arrested and later released with a court date of March 25, 2022.

On Saturday night police responded to a residence on Richmond Street in Chatham.

Police said that it was reported that there was a man at the location who was wanted for two counts of domestic assault.

Police arrested a 21-year old male at the residence.

He was later released with a future court date.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
