UPDATE: Eastbound Hwy. 401 open again in CK after crash

There may still be some slowdowns, but Ontario Provincial Police have fully re-opened the Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent after a collision Friday morning.

Drivers were advised of a closure in the eastbound lanes approaching Highgate at around 11 a.m. Friday after a collision.

OPP said all of the eastbound lanes of the highway were temporarily closed between Orford Road/County Road 20 (exit 117) and Furnival Road/County Road 103 (exit 129) for about an hour, but re-opened just before 12 p.m. Friday.

There is no word yet on whether anyone was hurt or whether charges will be laid in connection with the crash that prompted the closure earlier.
