LPH reports two more COVID deaths

The local COVID-19 death toll has risen to 129.

In its update Friday, Lambton Public Health reported two more deaths linked to the virus.

The health unit said one individual in their 70s and another in their 80s, both passed away in a local hospital.

Lambton Public Health reported 43 new lab confirmed infections since Wednesday's update, for an daily average of 19 over the last seven days.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, there have been 9,864 lab confirmed cases recorded in Sarnia-Lambton.

There are five COVID-positive patients at Bluewater Health, unchanged from Thursday, one is in intensive care.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
