LPH reports two more COVID-related deaths

The local COVID-19 death toll has surpassed 130.

In its update Wednesday, Lambton Public Health reported two more deaths linked to the virus, up to 131 since March 2020.

The health unit said the latest were an individual in their 70s and an individual in their 80s, both of whom passed away in hospital.

Since Monday's report, the health unit said there have been 35 more lab confirmed cases, for a daily average of 14 over the last week.

There are less than five COVID-positive patients at Bluewater Health, one of which is in intensive care.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
