Police look for missing Merlin man

Chatham-Kent police are investigating the report of a missing person.

Investigators say Franco Basaneze, 45, of Merlin was last seen around 10:30 p.m. on Monday in the area of Rivard Line in Grande Pointe.  He was reported missing on Tuesday.

He was driving a grey 2009 Ford Fusion with Ontario license plate CBSZ-696.

He is described as 5’3", 160 pounds, with brown eyes, and brown hair and was last seen wearing a blue hoodie and blue pants with boots.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
