St. Clair College to keep mask mandate

St. Clair College will continue with mandatory masking even though province-wide requirements will be lifted in Ontario as of Monday.

In a statement on social media, the college said they will continue to keep  mask mandates campus until the end of the winter semester on May 1.

The province is removing mask mandates at most indoor settings, including schools, on March 21. However, instutions do have a choice to keep mandates in place.

The college the safety of students and staff is their top priority and the mandate is one step to help ensure a successful completion of the semester.

The college also announced that it will be dropping its daily COVID-19 screening questionnaire Monday, which means students will no longer have to comeplete the questions through the SIS system.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
