Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent with significant rainfall in the forecast.
Rain is expected to start Tuesday night and become heavy late Wednesday afternoon or early evening. The weather service estimates the region could see 15 to 25 mm of rainfall over that period.
The partially frozen ground may not be able to absorb the rainfall, and localized flooding in low-lying areas may be possible.
The rain is expected to taper off by Wednesday night.
