Daily average COVID case count up in Sarnia-Lambton

The daily average of COVID-19 cases in Sarnia-Lambton is trending higher.

Lambton Public Health is reporting a daily average of 26 new cases over the last week.

Since its last update on Friday, the health unit is reporting 83 new lab confirmed infections.

Since March 2020, there have been 10, 333 confirmed cases locally and 133 related deaths.

There is one active outbreak at Fairwinds Lodge Retirement Home in Sarnia where 15 residents and fewer than five staff and visitors have tested positive. A previous outbreak at Vision Nursing Home has ended.

There are six COVID-positive patients at Bluewater Health.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
