Pair charged after $12K in cocaine seized east of Wheatley

Two people have been charged after a search warrant just outside of Wheatley turned up cocaine and other paraphernalia.

Officers with the OPP Essex County Community Street Crime Unit, the Tactics and Rescue Unit, the Emergency Response Team, along with the OPP canine unit said they searched a location on Talbot Trail near Cedar Road in Chatham-Kent on March 12, 2022.

Police said they located over 93 grams of cocaine, Canadian cash, a vehicle, six cellphones, and five digital scales, all of which were seized by police.

The total value of the seizure was worth approximately $12,400.

Earl Alexander Wynter, 45, of Mississagua and Nancy Heide, 35, of Leamington, were arrested and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.

The pair were held for show cause hearing.
