Daily average COVID case count at 28

Lambton Public Health is reporting a daily average of 28 new COVID-19 cases over the last week.

In its update Wednesday, the health unit reported 37 new lab confirmed infections since Monday's report.

Lambton Medical Officer of Health Dr. Sudit Ranade told Lambton County Council Wednesday that we're moving to a place of integrating COVID into the things that we do.

Since March 2020, there have been 10,579 cases recorded in Sarnia-Lambton and 134 related deaths.

There are 18 positive patients at Bluewater Health, none in the ICU.

About 80 per cent of the local eligible population (aged five and up) are fully vaccinated. Just under 50 per cent have had three doses of a COVID vaccine.
