Daily average COVID case count at 37

Lambton Public Health is reporting a daily average of 37 new COVID-19 cases over the last week.

In its update Monday, the health unit reported 108 new lab confirmed cases since Friday's report.

Since the start of the pandemic over two years ago, there have been 10,805 confirmed infections locally and 135 related deaths.

Lambton Public Health is monitoring six active outbreaks at long-term care facilities and congregate living settings.

There are 15 COVID-positive patients at Bluewater Health, of which less than five are in the ICU.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
