Maroons face Nationals after taking down the Kings

The Chatham Maroons open the second round of the GOJHL Western Conference playoffs in London this week.

The Maroons, who eliminated the Komoka Kings in the first round in five games, will face the London Nationals for Game 1 at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Western Fair District. The Nationals beat out the St. Thomas Stars in six games.

The Maroons are coming into the series as the underdogs after finishing in third place in the GOJHL's Western Conference -- London finished in second place.

Chatham went 1-5 against the Nationals during the regular season, but one of those losses was a forfeit and all of the games were decided by two goals or less.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
