LPH reports another COVID-related death

In the last week, Lambton Public Health has recorded 308 new lab confirmed cases of COVID-19.

In its update Wednesday, the first since before the Easter long weekend, the health unit reported another related death for a total of 136. The latest death was an individual in their 90s who passed away at a local nursing home.

There are two active outbreaks at Lambton Meadowview Villa in Petrolia and Vision Nursing Home in Sarnia.

Since the start of the pandemic over a year ago, there have been 11,147 confirmed infections reported in Sarnia-Lambton.

There are 14 COVID-positive patients at Bluewater Health, down three from Tuesday.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
