LPH records 141st COVID-related death

The local death toll from COVID-19 has surpassed 140.

In its update Monday, Lambton Public Health reported the death toll has reached 141. The latest was an individual in their 80s who died in hospital.

Since Friday's report, the health unit recorded 70 more lab confirmed cases of the virus, for a total of 11,567 to date.

The number of active outbreaks is unchanged at four.

There are 13 COVID-positive patients at Bluewater Health, up from eight on Friday.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
