Schedule set for GOJHL Western Finals

The Chatham Maroons and Leamington Flyers are ready to battle for GOJHL Western Conference supremacy.

The schedule has been set for the conference finals, with the winner moving on to the first round of the Sutherland Cup playoffs, which will feature a round-robin format with the conference champions of the Midwestern and Golden Horseshoe Conferences.

The Maroons advanced to the conference finals after polishing off the London Nationals in five games. The Flyers overcame a 2-0 deficit against the St. Marys Lincolns to win the next four to stamp their ticket.

The series kicks off at the Nature Fresh Farms Recreation Centre Thursday at 7:10 p.m. Game 2 will follow Sunday at 3 p.m. at Chatham Memorial Arena.

The rest of the schedule is as follows.

  • Game 3 - Chatham @ Leamington - Monday, May 9 - 7:10 p.m.
  • Game 4 - Leamington @ Chatham - Wednesday, May 11 - 7 p.m.
  • Game 5 if necessary - Chatham @ Leamington - Thursday, May 12 - 7:10 p.m.
  • Game 6 if necessary - Leamington @ Chatham - Saturday, May 14 - 3 p.m.
  • Game 7 if necessary - Chatham @ Leamington - Sunday, May 15 - 7:10 p.m.
Leamington took the season series four games to two, with one win in overtime and one in a shootout.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
