CK police briefs - Tuesday, May 10, 2022

A 29-year-old man who was wanted for several domestic violence-related offences has been arrested.

Chatham-Kent police said they started investigating after they learned about an incident on Saturday where a man had allegedly assaulted his wife at their home in Chatham.

Police said their investigation showed that there was also a history of abusive behaviour directed towards the woman.

Officers caught up with the man accused of hurting her shortly after 11 p.m. Monday and arrested him.

He was charged with forcible confinement, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, uttering threats, and assault.

He was set to be held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
