Charge laid after truck-train collision in Chatham
A 43-year-old Chatham man has been charged with disobeying a rail crossing signal after a crash in Chatham involving a truck and a train Tuesday afternoon.
Chatham-Kent police said a vehicle was hit by a train as it went through the crossing on Colborne Street just before 4 p.m. Tuesday.
No injuries were reported and the matter was passed along to the Canadian Pacific Railway Police.

Police find drugs on driver who wasn't supposed to be behind the wheel
A 41-year-old Wallaceburg man is facing drug and driving-related charges after police followed up on a traffic complaint Tuesday afternoon.
Police said when they pulled the vehicle over at around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, the man who was behind the wheel told police he didn't have a valid driver's license.
Officers later learned that the man was also bound by four different court orders banning him from driving.
While police were arresting him for that, officers also allegedly found some suspected cocaine, psilocybin, and scales in his possession along with a "substantial amount" of Canadian cash.
As a result, the man was also charged with two counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking.
He was taken into custody and set to be held there pending a bail hearing.

Tilbury woman taken off the street to sober up
A 32-year-old Tilbury woman spent some time sobering up in a police holding cell overnight.
Police said they arrested her for public intoxication after they got a call about a disturbance on Charteris Street in Chatham at around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The woman was taken back to police headquarters and was held there until she was sober.

Police asking for help to find stolen trailer
Chatham-Kent police are looking for a covered trailer that was stolen from a business on National Road in Chatham.
Officers said it was taken sometime overnight on Saturday May 7 and was last seen with Ontario license plate S1146P.
You can find a picture of the trailer below -- police said it also has orange spray paint on the driver's side.
