Maroons tie up Western Conference Final

The Chatham Maroons doubled up the Leamington Flyers 4-2 to tie the series up at 2-2.

Connor Paronuzzi opened the scoring for the Maroons at 3:05 in the first period with a powerplay goal. Cameron Graham scored just over three minutes later to put Chatham up 2-0.

Leamington scored to cut the Maroons lead in half, but Dylan Glinski scored on the powerplay to put Chatham up 3-1 at the end of the first.

After a scoreless second period, the Flyers scored late in the third, but Cameron Welch added an empty netter to secure the victory for the Maroons. Nolan DeKoning made 32 saves to get the win.

Game five in the GOJHL Western Conference Final goes Thursday in Leamington, Puck drop is 7:10 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
