Stolen items recovered in Essex

A 49-year-old Wheatley man is facing a pair of charges after provincial police recovered several stolen items from a property in Essex.

According to the OPP, its Community Street Crime Unit executed a search warrant on Ridge Road on Thursday.

As a result, officers recovered multiple items that had been reported as stolen.

The man was charged with two counts of possession of property obtained by a crime over $5,000. He was released with a future court date.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
