Schedule released for Sutherland Cup round-robin

For the first time since 2006, the Chatham Maroons have a chance to vie for the Sutherland Cup.

The Maroons punched their ticket to the Sutherland Cup round-robin tournament after beating the Leamington Flyers 5-2 on Saturday in Game 6, earning the title of the GOJHL Western Conference Champions.

Chatham will now face the Cambridge Redhawks, who took the Mid-Western Conference in five games, and the St. Catharines Falcons, who won the Golden Horseshoe Conference in six games.

The schedule has been set for the Sutherland Cup round-robin.

The Maroons will kick things off on Tuesday at Memorial Arena in Chatham at 7 p.m.. They'll be taking on The Falcons.

The top two teams in the round-robin tournament will then face each other for the Sutherland Cup.

The Maroons have not won the Sutherland Cup since 1999.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
