One dead after fatal collision in Dover Township

Chatham-Kent police are investigating a fatal collision in Dover Township.

Around 8 A.m. Saturday morning, a vehicle travelling eastbound on Paincourt Line struck a tree on the north side of the road.

Police said an 18-year-old woman from Dover Township was transported from the scene to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance with serious injuries.

The woman was transported to Windsor Regional Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

Police said the name of the woman will not be released at this time.

The collision remains under investigation.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
