Human remains found in Chatham

Chatham-Kent police are ruling out foul play after human remains were discovered in Chatham.

According to police, the body of a man was found in the area of Bloomfield Road and Richmond Street last Friday. The discovery was made hours before the body of another person was pulled from the Thames River in Dover Township.

The body was taken to the London Health Sciences Centre for a forensic autopsy where the man was identified.

The man’s next of kin has been notified and police will not be releasing his identity out of respect for the family

Foul play is not suspected and there is no concern for public safety.
