Hot and humid start to the week

Environment Canada has issued a Heat Warning for Chatham-Kent and Windsor-Essex counties.

The weather agency said that hot, humid air is expected to arrive Monday and last until Wednesday. Maximum temperatures on both days will be in the low to mid-thirties, with little relief at night.

The heat could also bring poor air quality and cause breathing difficulties, it also puts young children, pregnant women, older adults, and people with chronic illnesses at higher risk of heat stroke or heat exhaustion.

People are advised to schedule outdoor activities for the cooler part of the day and not to leave pets or children inside parked vehicles.
