UPDATE: Storm downs trees, knocks out power across CK (GALLERY)

There are still a couple of small pockets of power outages in Chatham-Kent Thursday morning after a strong line of storms rolled through.

Entegrus says all of its issues have been cleared up and Hydro One says it should have all of the lights back on in Chatham-Kent by noon Thursday.

The local power provider first reported a significant outage at around 1:41 p.m. on Wednesday, just as powerful storms travelled through the region.

At the peak of the outage, about 14,000 Entegrus customers and 2,000 Hydro One customers in Chatham-Kent had their power knocked out as trees and power lines came down.

Residents are being reminded to assume that any downed power lines are energized and to never try to move downed wires or remove tree limbs. According to Entegrus, individuals should stay back at least 33-feet from a downed powerline.

To report a downed tree, residents are asked to call 3-1-1 or 519-360-1998.
