Man faced with several charges after break and enter 

A 42-year-old Wallaceburg man is facing several charges after allegedly breaking into a woman's home and stealing her purse.

Police said they responded to the residence in Wallaceburg and learned that the man attended her home Saturday afternoon to help the woman.

Officers said a few hours after the man left, she noticed the screen on her window had been tampered with and her purse was missing.

Police said they learned that the woman’s stolen visa card was used at numerous locations in Wallaceburg.

Officers were able to identify the man through video surveillance at one of the locations the woman's card was used.

The 42-year-old was charged with break and enter, five counts of theft of a credit card, and five counts of fraud.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man charged with drug possession

A 26-year-old man is facing a drug-related charge after he was found walking on Queen Street in Chatham in possession of crack cocaine.

Police said they learned the man also had an outstanding warrant.

He was arrested and charged.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Wallaceburg woman charged after allegedly assaulting another man

A 29-year-old Wallaceburg woman is facing a couple of charges after she allegedly threw a candle stick at a man’s head and damaged some of his property.

Police said the incident in Wallaceburg happened early Sunday morning.

The 29-year-old was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon and two counts of mischief under $5,000.

She was later released with conditions.
