Daily average COVID case count continues downward trend

Lambton Public Health is reporting fewer than 30 new cases of COVID-19 in the last week.

In its weekly update Wednesday, the health unit reported 27 new lab confirmed infections.

The daily average number of cases over a week has dropped to three from six a week ago.

Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 11,922 confirmed cases locally and 146 deaths.

Last week, the health unit announced it was beginning a staged return to normal operations, and COVID-updates would be provided once a week.

There are four COVID-positive patients at Bluewater Health, none of whom are in the ICU.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
