Cyclists killed in early morning crash

Two cyclists were killed in a collision early Wednesday morning at Walpole Island First Nation.

Lambton OPP say just before 5 a.m., officers along with members of the Walpole Island Police Service, Walpole Island Fire and Chatham-Kent EMS responded to a report of a vehicle striking two bike riders on River Road.

Police say the two cyclists were pronounced deceased and the driver of the vehicle was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The investigation is ongoing and River Road was closed between Firehall Road and Austin Road for several hours.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
