Cause of fire under investigation after body found inside burned house in Chatham

The cause of a house fire in Chatham is under investigation after a body was found inside the home.

Chatham-Kent police said emergency crews were called to a home on Edgar Street just after 5 a.m. Saturday morning for reports of a house fire.

Police said the body was found after the fire had been extinguished.

The cause of death and identity has not yet been determined, but both are under investigation, as is the cause of the fire.
