Walpole Island fatal crash victim identified

Lambton OPP have identified the victim who died after being struck by a vehicle on Walpole Island earlier this week.

On Monday, officers along with members of the Walpole Island Police Service, Walpole Island Fire, and Chatham-Kent EMS responded to a report of a vehicle striking a pedestrian on Chief's Road.

The individual, Clifton Tooshkenig from Walpole Island First Nation, was transported to a hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

Police continue to investigate and will provide further updates when they become available.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
