Windsor man charged after crash near Chatham claims two lives

A Windsor man is facing charges after a four-vehicle crash just outside of Chatham that killed two people and injured three others.

As previously reported, Chatham-Kent police were called to the scene on Queen's Line at Dillon Road on May 27, 2022.

At that time, officers said their investigation showed that a 27-year-old Windsor man was driving east on Queen’s Line when his vehicle collided with a pickup truck travelling westbound.

Investigators said the man's vehicle then went on to hit an older-model Buick that had five people inside. Two of the occupants in the Buick died at the scene.

Police said they have concluded their investigation into the incident and as a result, they have charged 27-year-old Brett Iler of Windsor with two counts of careless driving causing death and three counts of careless driving causing bodily harm.

His next court date is September 7, 2022.
