$15K methamphetamine bust leads to charges

A 60-year-old man is facing several charges after a large quantity of suspected methamphetamine was seized from a residence in Wallaceburg.

Lambton OPP along with Essex County OPP and the Chatham-Kent Police Service raided a home on Fraser Street in Wallaceburg on July 21.

A quantity of suspected methamphetamine with an approximate street value of $15,000 was seized from the residence, according to police.

The suspect has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and failure to comply with an undertaking.

Police said the search warrant resulted from investigations that were initiated in response to the state of emergency declared by Walpole Island First Nation following several illicit drug-related incidents.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
