BWH declares COVID outbreak at Sarnia hospital

Bluewater Health, in consultation with Lambton Public Health, has declared a COVID-19 outbreak on the Cognitively Complex Continuing Care (CCCOG) unit in Sarnia, with five patients testing positive.

The hospital said there are less than five staff members infected at this time.

Currently, one designated care partner is still being permitted per CCCOG patient.

Designated care partners will be required to monitor daily for symptoms, and wear personal protective equipment.

Bluewater Health currently has nine COVID-positive patients in hospital.

Lambton Public Health will provide its next weekly COVID-19 update on Wednesday.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
