Daily COVID cases trending lower

The daily average number of COVID-19 cases in Sarnia-Lambton is continuing to trend downward.

Lambton Public Health said the average number of cases over the last seven days has dropped to 11 from 15 two weeks ago.

In its weekly update, the health unit reported another 78 lab confirmed infections, and three active outbreaks.

Since the pandemic started there have been 12,740 confirmed cases locally and 150 related deaths.

There are less than five COVID-positive patients at Bluewater Health.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
