Saying "yes" to Encore paid off for Chatham man

A lucky Chatham man has turned one dollar into $100,000 by hitting the Encore number in a Lotto Max draw a month ago.

Robert Brown said "yes" to Encore and matched the last six of seven numbers in the correct order in the August 5, 2022 draw.

Brown, who is retired and a father, said this isn’t his first big win this year adding he won $10,000 with Lottario.

"I play the lottery regularly. I always check my numbers on OLG.ca after the draws and I had to do a double take at the computer when I noticed I won!" said Brown. "I normally don't play ENCORE, but I decided to add it this time. My daughter is the first one I told. She was dumbfounded and shocked."

Brown plans to buy a new car, adding "this win is a blessing.”

The winning ticket was purchased at Charlie's Variety on Keil Drive in Chatham.
