Man accused of hitting another person with a piece of wood in Wallaceburg

A man is facing charges after allegedly hitting another person with a piece of wood during a fight in Wallaceburg.

Police said they were called to the disturbance Friday and learned that one of the men involved was found to have an outstanding warrant.

Officers said they also learned that the man was accused of striking the other with a piece of wood and caused a minor injury.

The man was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon.

After being processed at Chatham-Kent police headquarters, the man was released with a future court date.

Woman arrested on outstanding warrant 

A 33-year-old woman, known to be wanted by Chatham-Kent police, was arrested Friday on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court on a domestic violence matter.

The woman is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
